Description:

Characteristics measuring and scaling of temperature sensor are essential contents of heat and electromagnetism experiments in college general physics, and also an important experiment newly added to the teaching program of engineering universities in countrywide.

Compared with other similar product, the new apparatus embodies four advantages as below:

1. small in volume;

2. high accuracy in temperature control;

3. without pollution and noise (have no mercury used and relay as well);

4. digital display both for set and measured temperature values.

The apparatus is suitable for measuring the characteristics of all kinds of temperature sensors and the relation of resistance to temperature of a variety of materials. It also can be used for physics and chemical experiments acting as constant temperature apparatus. It is one of necessary experimental apparatus required by the engineering universities.

EXPERIMENTS:

1. Measurement and application of AD590 current integrated temperature sensor:

(1) Measuring the relation of output current to temperature of AD590 sensor; calculate the sensitivity of the sensor and its output current at 0oC;

(2) Design and try to install a digital Celsius thermometer by utilizing AD590 sensor, resistance box, digital voltmeter and dc source;

(3) Measuring volt-ampere characteristics of AD590 sensor at a constant temperature and find out the minimum voltage within the linear service range of AD590 sensor.

2. Measure the relation of thermistor value of semiconductor to temperature and find out empirical formula of this thermistor.
