Description:

All substance will deform more or less under external force. If deformation is within a certain extent, and once the external force is removed, deformation will disappear, which is called elastic deformation. In case of elastic deformation, internal stress that forces the substance to restore the original shape will occur. Youngs modulus is a physics quantity that reflects the relationship between deformation and the stress, and it is a commonly used constant in engineering. CCD elongation method Youngs modulus measuring apparatus uses elongation method to measure Youngs modulus of metal wire.

The apparatus has following features:

1It is compact and light, and its test data is stable and reliable. Youngs modulus of two kinds of sample (constantan wire, steel wire) can be measured with the apparatus, which enables students to better understand the physical meaning of Youngs modulus.

2The apparatus is equipped with reading microscope and CCD imaging system, so the students can also learn the method of measuring micro displacement with reading microscope.

The apparatus is applicable to physics experiment in universities and colleges and design and comprehensive experiment.

EXPERIMENTS:

1. Measuring Youngs modulus of materials;

2. Learning measuring method of basic length, master operation method of meter scale, outside micrometer and reading microscope;

3. Learning how to process data with graphical construction;

4. Learning operating method of CCD imaging system and understand its characteristics.
